Worked out from who's in your household and what's actually on the shelf. Water is usually the surprise.
If the power went out
Pick how long and this works out where you'd run short. A ticked box tells you that you own a generator; this tells you whether you can actually run it until the lights come back.
These drive the fuel maths. The generator defaults are typical for a mid-size portable unit — check the plate on yours if you want it exact. The gas questions matter because piped gas usually keeps flowing in a power cut, but most gas appliances still need electricity to run.
Add an item
One photo is usually enough — get the front label with the date stamp in frame if you can. If it can't find a date, just type it in on the next screen. Turn off auto-read when you want to add a second close-up before analyzing.

Home Readiness

Two things to get right before you need them.
Run a generator outdoors only, at least 20 feet from any door, window or vent, and never in a garage even with the door open — carbon monoxide kills people every winter, and it gives no warning. Keep a working CO detector on each sleeping floor.
For light, use battery or LED lanterns rather than candles; open flame during an outage is a leading cause of house fires. If you do burn candles, use a wide-based holder on a hard surface and never leave one in a room you've left.
