Pantry Ledger

Home food storage inventory. Snap a label and this reads the date, sorts the shelf life, and tells you what to use first.

How long would this last?

Worked out from who's in your household and what's actually on the shelf. Water is usually the surprise.

Add an item

One photo is usually enough — get the front label with the date stamp in frame if you can. If it can't find a date, just type it in on the next screen. Turn off auto-read when you want to add a second close-up before analyzing.
Send a label photo to Claude in your chat conversation, then paste the code block it gives you back here. Tell Claude how many you have and it'll include a "quantity" in the block.

Storage targets

Household

Who you're packing for. Ages pick the right starting list, and the app flags a kit when someone grows into a different one.

72-Hour Kits

What each person and animal carries out the door. Measured against a target list, so it tells you what's missing as well as what's expiring — and flags a kit when a child grows into a different one.

Home Readiness

The shelter-in-place side: generator, fuel, heat, light, sanitation, tools. These don't get outgrown, they get neglected — so gasoline, bleach, batteries and the generator itself carry a service interval rather than a printed date.

Inventory

Good = more than 6 months out · Use soon = within 6 months or no confirmed date margin · Expired = past estimated date · Needs info = no readable date, add one manually to track it precisely.

Shopping list

Built from what's below its minimum, what's missing from kits, what's due for rotation, and what's about to expire. Tick things off in the store — it works with no signal — then press Add what I bought and the ledger updates itself.

Reminders

An email digest of what's expiring, what's due for rotation, and what's missing from your kits. This is the part that works while you're not thinking about it.

Print

Paper copies for the closet door, the clipboard, and the glovebox — the app is no help when the power's out.

Backup

This is a snapshot of the shared database, in case you ever need to move it or recover from a connection issue.
